RECENT ADDITIONS

Since the major Renovations and Repairs to the townhouse were completed, additional improvements have been made each year and a few items are planned, as discussed below.

In 2007 the carport and atrium walkway, which suffered from some concrete cracks, were provided with a new surface.

In 2006 we replaced the television sets in two of our bedrooms including an LCD TV and integrated DVD and a flat tube 24" TV with built-in DVD. Now all of our bedroom TVs have flat screens and DVDs. Our laptop computer was replaced with an IBM Thinkpad that is faster and has a larger display. We added some new linens and towels.

In 2005 the Internet service was replaced from our phone service to our cable service, providing faster and more reliable connections. We also replaced the television in the master bedroom with a 27" flat tube TV that is intergrated with both a DVD and VCR. We also replaced our pots and pans.

In 2004 new electronics included an upgraded router and (802.11G) Wi-Fi network attached to the high-speed Internet access, new 5.8GHZ cordless phones with answering machine, a new 2-line phone cordless phone downstairs, a new cordless phone for line-2 upstairs, a new portable humidifier and upgraded bedroom TVs and stereos - (now all have a DVDs &/or VCRs, front A/V connections for video game connections and tape/radio/CD (MP3) stereos with remotes. Upgraded linens and bedding include new all cotton towels and sheets (with 300+/- Thread Counts), new hyper allergenic goose down pillows and some new blankets. Further additions include some pots/pans & glasses/dishes, some new wall decorations in the middle bedroom, some new screens and a new dining room table center piece. The outside atrium was also repainted and received some new plantings. Some of the planned projects, listed below, are scheduled for this coming year.

In 2003 new items included new bedding (deluxe duvets with hyper allergenic white down comforters), new blinds in the bedrooms (with light reducing and blackout designs), some additions to pots/pans and cooking utensils, a new rustic ceiling fan in the living room, a high-speed (DSL) Internet access, a Wi-Fi (802.11) network, a laptop computer, the installation of a new screen door at the entry and an outdoor gas grill available at the adjoining unit (253), when it is not occupied.

In 2002 additional items included more private libraries (including paperback books (now 50+/-) and DVDs (20+), a "weather station" with outdoor temperatures, a patio storage bin for charcoal and tools, new bedroom headboards, lamps, a night stand and a new (loft) bedroom stereo (with MP3). Also, new 2.4GHz cordless phones with an answering machine and an all-in-one (fax-copier-printer) machine was added. In the fall of 2002, an outdoor atrium irrigation system, a 6' juniper in the atrium, an extension of the slate floor in the kitchen/hall area and new French patio doors with blinds were also installed.

In 2001 new items included a granite & pebble backsplash in the kitchen, a new DVD/CD player, new patio furniture, another TV (all BRs now have TVs), artwork in the bedroom/baths, new dishware, new utensils, new glasses, a new Weber charcoal grill with tools, new bath rugs, the beginning of private libraries (videos, music and games) and new living room lamps.

Of course, seasonal changes also necessitate changes. In summer, portable fans, lighter bedding and some decorations are brought out. Plantings in the irrigated atrium are also added. In winter, a space heater, portable humidifiers, heavier bedding and holiday decorations are added. In addition, periodic updating occurs with touch up painting, new glassware, new flatware, new pillows/blankets, staining the hot tub deck, etc.

Planned projects include the installation of new patio screen doors, a stone surface over the fireplace, upgrading the living room television with HDTV and new pine stair railings.

If you have suggestions about items to add please, let us know at condo@schottco.com. If you are a past guest from just a year or two ago, you'll be pleasantly surprised with our recent improvements. Unlike other units that just get older, the Park City Townhome is getting better!
