Heber Valley:
Heber City is only about twenty minutes away via Kearns Blvd (Highway 248) and Highway 40. Before reaching the city, the Jordanelle Basin & Reservoir offers boating, water skiing, jet skiing, and fishing. After passing through Heber City, the Deer Creek Reservoir provides similar activities. Heber City has several good and unique restaurants and some theatres. Heber City is home to the Heber Valley Railroad that has daily excursions via an old steam locomotive year round. There is also the Heber Valley Airport, the closest private airport to Park City.

Midway:
Just west of Heber City is Midway, a small swiss-like community where the Homestead Resort is located (featuring a spa, championship golf course, horses, tennis & scuba diving). A large swiss-miss festival, featuring an arts fair, is held every summer.

Sundance:
South of Heber City and Midway, on the way to Provo, is Robert Redford's Sundance Institute, about 40 minutes away. It has skiing in winter and arts/crafts & outdoor theater in the summer. It is nestled within the Mount Timpanogos Wilderness area which has the Timpanogos National Monument about a mile walk from Aspen Grove.

Salt Lake City:
About half an hour from Park City are several interesting attractions in Salt Lake City. These include numerous events and a tour of Temple Square, including the Tabernacle and the LDS Family History Library. For shopping, visit Trolley Square and the ZCMI Center Mall. There is also the Hogee Zoo and the SLC Chamber lists other attractions and suggests self guided tours.

Utah
Some of the most spectacular National Parks in the country are located in Utah. Please review a list of both national parks and U.S. forests. Suggested scenic drives will take you near or through these areas. In addition, there are many rivers in Utah that besides good fishing, provides excellent rafting.

Spectator Sports:
Spectator Sports are available, primarily in Salt Lake, that include the professional Utah Jazz basketball team. Other minor league sports include the Utah Buzz (AAA) baseball team and the Utah Grizzlies hockey team. There are also many Utah College Sports, notably University of Utah, BYU, and Utah State. You can buy tickets to most of these games online.
